Once I purchased it - all become clear - this tool is essential to the peak performance of using this type of powerful blender. I use my Vitamix for smoothies, soups, sauces, drinks -- and it is a significantly easier and faster process now that I have added the tamper tool.I find that I am making many more healthy foods/drinks with expert results!
