It seemed logical to upgrade to this strong sounding blender.It has a long warantee...be sure to use the one from K-tec directly.The unit is like a computerized diesel locomotive. It has several varied speed SEQUENCES for different tasks. The shakes were better than ever and it changed our lives... (I had to laugh at the review about it not running at a constant speed. It's not supposed to!)...it's versatility makes it possible to whip together unlimited textures. But the factory pre-sets are all the average person would ever need. The unit is absolutely incredible.The company is even better. When the pitcher malfunctioned after 3 years, it was replaced for free, promptly with no questions asked. It was even a newer model improved pitcher!.When the unit sounded like the gears were crunching a year later (but was still working), they quickly replaced the entire unit for free.If there were more products and companies like this it would be a better world!When this appliance finally dies, I will immediately buy the best K-tec available with no comparison shopping. This is the Rolls Royce of residential blenders.
